Grilled Tandoori Chicken

Ingredients:

4 lbs chicken pieces
½ cup onion, chopped  
2 T garlic, chopped
1 t. Serrano chili, chopped
2 T ginger, minced
½ cup plain yogurt
Spices: 1 ½ t. salt, 1 t. ground cumin, 1 t. ground coriander, 1 t. tumeric, 1 t. garam masala, ½ t. cayenne pepper, 2 t. tandoori chicken masala, 1 t. fresh lemon juice, red food coloring (optional)

Method:

  1. Prick chicken w/ fork and make ½ “ diagonal slices on cleaned chicken.
  2. In blender, mix top ingredients, then add spices. Pour marinade over chicken and marinate overnight.
  3. Preheat oven for 400 degrees F to cook chicken for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Put chicken on high heat on grill/broiler to char-blacken the edges.
  5. Serve with slices of onion, coriander.
