Paneer Tava Masala
Ingredients:
3 cups paneer, cubed
½ t. carom seeds
½ t. cumin seeds
½ cup chopped onions
2 t. garlic paste
1 t. chopped green chillies
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 cup tomato puree
1/4 t. caraway
2 T. cream (optional)
1/2 t. garam masala powder
Salt to taste
Paneer Marinade: 2 T. fenugreek leaves (crushed), 1 t. chilli powder, ½ t. turmeric, 1 t. chaat masala
Method:
- Marinate paneer cubes with dried fenugreek leaves, chilli powder, turmeric powder, chaat masala and salt for 30 minutes.
- Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a non stick pan and shallow fry the paneer pieces in it till they are golden brown in color. Drain.
- Heat the remaining oil in the same pan and add ajwain and cumin seeds. When they crackle, add onions & sauté until golden.
- Add the garlic paste, green chillies, coriander powder and salt and saute for 2 minutes. Add tomato puree and caraway seeds. Cook till the oil separates from the gravy. Add fried paneer cubes, cream and garam masala powder and mix gently. Serve.
