Rasam
Ingredients:
¼ cup toor cooked daal
½ onion, thinly cliced
1/8 “ ginger, minced
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2-3 t. rasam powder
½ t. mustard seeds
3-4 slitted chillies
2 tomatoes, chopped
½ t. sugar, salt to taste
4-5 curry leaves
Coriander to garnish
Lime juice at end
Methods:
- Cook daal ahead of time. Heat oil and add mustard seeds until they pop.
- Add garlic & cook 1 min. Then add onion, ginger, chlilies, curry leaves and cook for 5 min.
- Add tomatoes. Cook 5 minutes until softened.
- Add rest of spices, then daal w/ 1 cup water. Simmer 10 minutes.
